In the fall of last year, I held my second annual Pay it Forward contest. This past year’s contest was specifically for expecting families who nominators felt were deserving of a free newborn session. You can read my winner’s story HERE.
Meet Haylee and James, the sweet twinsies that belong to my Pay it Forward contest winners—Kristin and Dave!!! They made their debut into the world about a month early…and I’m happy to say that their daddy was able to be home to welcome them into the world!!! Towards the ending of Kristin’s pregnancy the twins created more complications for Kristin’s body, because she needed the extra help and care prior to the twins arrival, Dave was able to come home from his deployment and care for his wife. This also meant that he was able to be home for the birth of his beautiful babes…and he gets to stay home and help with their care now. Yipee for Kristin and Dave!!! It has been a long, challenging journey for Kristin and Dave but in the end it all worked out…and now they have their beautiful family of four and they are altogether enjoying every single moment of this special time in their lives!!!
Haylee and James came to see me when they were a little over 2 weeks old. They were tiny little babes…Haylee was just about 5 lbs. and James was not quite 5 lbs. It was my first time photographing a babe who was less than 5 lbs. He was a wee little babe…most of my newborn hats were too large for him. It’s amazing how much difference a pound or two makes when babes are newborns!!!
The first time around both babes were sleepy, sleepy for their individual shots, but they didn’t really sleep well together. Each time I tried to pose them together, one was sleepier than the other. The more awake babe would grumble, start moving all about and they would wake each other up and then they would start pushing away from each other and grumbling. It was kind of funny and entertaining to watch 🙂
After their session, I viewed my images of what I managed to get of them together. I wasn’t satisfied with what I captured so I asked Kristin and Dave if they would be willing to come back and allow me try posing their sweet babes together one more time. To my delight, they were more than willing to return and allow me to try again 🙂 This time my sole focus would be of capturing the twins together. I am soooooooo HAPPY they returned because we managed to capture adorable images of them together. ADORABLE. The twins and I worked hard together and we were able to get them in 3 different poses together. Aaaannnnnnd I hit the lottery…I managed to capture one of them together SMILING! Seriously, melts my heart!!!
Thank you Kristin and Dave for providing me with this wonderful experience of meeting your beautiful, deserving family and photographing your precious, precious babes!!! I had so much fun working with them and capturing these special memories for your family. I am so honored to have been able to pay it forward to your family!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I wish you all the best on your new journey and in life!!! Have a blessed 2013!!!
