Children: Tysen | Hawaii Children Photographer

So it’s been a while since I had a photo shoot with this little guy!!!  Can you believe that he is almost three years old?!?!  It seems like just yesterday I got the phone call that he was born!!!  His mama wanted him to take some images for Valentine’s Day.  As talented and crafty as she is, she made him a cute little Valentine’s Day shirt.  After some text and phone conversations we decided to do an urban photo shoot with Tysen.  Yay for urban photo shoots!!!  I love doing these kinds of photo shoots too…wandering around downtown or other parts of Honolulu looking for fabulous backdrops for a photo session.  For Tysen’s photo shoot we ended up in downtown.  Dari is a very “willing” mama when it comes to photo shoots so she doesn’t mind doing something different even if it means Tysen might get a little dirty.  She just made sure she brought along a lot wipes!!!

Thank you Dari for a fun-filled afternoon!!!  I always know when I go on a photo shoot with you, I will get fabulous images of your son!!!  I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed taking them!!!

Here he is with his box of chocolates…

I love his smile and when he cracks up!!!  Dari thank you for cracking up with him so that he would crack up even more!!!  I love the red door behind him…it went perfectly with our Valentine’s Day shoot!!!

And for those of you that think photographing children is “easy,” think again!!!  Babies, toddlers and children of such young ages are anything but “easy” to photograph because they have minds of their own and majority of the time they will not do what you “want” them to do.  If they do what you want them to do, you have to be quick because it may last for only a second.  Literally.  The image on the left is a prime example of how children do what they want to do.  The shot is a tad out of focus, but it’s hilarious so I had to show it!!!  We wanted him to stand against the red door and smile.  He wanted to be a dinosaur and ROAR!!!

He wanted to touch the heart on his tie so badly!!!

I love this image of him.  Sometimes to get children to look at me I tell them to look for my eye or the camera’s eye in my lens.  So here Tysen is looking for my eye!!!  Isn’t this image hilarious!!!  This is exactly why I love children!!!
