Do you remember this sweet little girl—Mia?!?! She belongs to our dear and special friends Merlin and Kristen. I cannot believe that she’s going to be almost one year old soon!!! It seems like just yesterday I was sitting on an airplane and anxiously awaiting news of her arrival. Fast forward almost one year later and here she is all grown up!!!
We headed out to the lagoon to capture mermaid shots because that is the theme for her first birthday party. As you can see, she wasn’t too happy to be a mermaid at all…it was probably a mixture of reasons. Nevertheless, we carried on with the photo shoot tears and all. Oh the memories we captured for her…priceless!!! Merlin and Kristen were great sports too, pulling out their entire bag of tricks to make Mia smile and trudging through the tears. Rumor has it that Mia’s daddy cried this like this too when he was a baby…and he hated being photographed. He would even turn his back to the camera. Funny how little things like this are innate and passed on to our offspring.
We got some smiles later in the shoot…I think Mia preferred to be a sailor. 🙂 She rocked her little sailor outfit and her peony flower headband gave her outfit a vintage feel. Love her smiles and adorable little cheeks!!! Love her to pieces 🙂
Thank you Merlin, Kristen, Mia and Aunty Yvonne for a wonderful morning!!! I had so much fun hanging out with you guys and capturing this special moment in your lives. Your baby girl is growing up too quickly for Aunty Mindy!!! Pretty soon she’ll be running all over the place and getting into mischief with her buddy Mischa 🙂 Lots of love and big hugs to you and your family!!!
*Both headbands were one of a kind (OOAK) custom-made for Mia’s shoot by Pat from Sew Whimsey. I think that they came out gorgeously!!! Thank you Pat for working with me and for creating such beautiful headbands for our shoot!!!
