Forever in Our Hearts: Aunty Cookie

This past weekend I said good-bye to a very special person—Aunty Cookie.  “Mindy the Girl!!!”  That is what she would call me every time I saw her.  She would shout it with her hearty, cheerful voice and a big smile on her face.  I will miss hearing her calling my name.

Aunty Cookie is the mother of one of my good friends.  She was one of the friendliest and funniest souls I ever met.  She would make us laugh until our bellies ached.  She was a sweetheart full of love and generosity.  She watched over us as if we were her own.  She would talk story with us as if she were one of our friends.  She gave us rides to football games and made sure our bellies were full of food.  She was a daughter.  She was a sister.  She was a mother.  She was a grandmother.  She is our Aunty Cookie.  She is a very special lady near and dear to many of us.  And she will be missed immensely.  You are forever in our hearts!!!  We love and miss you Aunty Cookie!!!
